After reading and re-blogging AnnMarie’s post today (The Middle Kingdom), I was inspired to share a gentle monster of my own. I didn’t draw this guy, Joseph did (as a high school project), but he has been my guardian ever since. He hangs on the wall above my bed, along with Georgia’s birth sampler and other treasures that I love seeing every day.

What a fabulous drawing and a wickedly talented imagination. I love that you hang endearing works nearby and they watch over as you sleep. Simple treasures by our beds hold more meaning than a million mantle trophies of purest gold.

Today is my 8th grade son’s graduation ceremony – it’s on to high school for him 🙂

Oh, the fun is just beginning for your son! I remember Joseph’s 8th graduate “promotional ceremony” (the school district didn’t want it called a graduation) so well…and now he is 41! I will get to see him on Thursday, and am so excited. Have a glorious day. – Fawn
