Well, friends, tonight’s post was supposed to be a review of For She is the Tree of Life, the wonderful book about grandmothers that I read today. However, I got side-tracked by a collection of 44 tiny houses on Face Book (thank you, Suzy Ward) and spent the past half hour meandering through photos and videos. Even though I realize I have too much stuff for a tiny house to make any sense at all, I am still fascinated by them. So that’s the tangent I explored…book review is promised for tomorrow.
Sleep well.
Hi, Fawn! You know, it seems like “tiny houses” are really “hot” right now. 🙂 I watched a documentary about them on Netflix some time ago and was fascinated. I wonder what it is about all of us who are so drawn to this tiny spaces, when for most of us we’re living and working in probably the largest spaces ever created for living/working. It’s something to ponder, that’s for sure. We had a condo that was 500 sq. ft., and it was great — except that with all of our animals, we didn’t have enough room. 🙂 So we had to go “bigger.” Anyway, I always pause on those “tiny houses” on FB, too. 🙂

The first “tiny house” I ever encountered, Deb, was the playhouse my best friend’s dad built for her and her sister back in the 1950’s. It had running water, a working doorbell, and lights, and I must admit I was more than a little jealous! Our priest is in conversation right now with our mayor about building tiny houses as a partial solution to the city’s homeless problem. I think the possibilities are endless. – Fawn

I think tiny houses for the homeless would be an excellent idea, Fawn! And yes, I think my own fondness for the small abodes comes from having green-eyed envy for a friend’s playhouse! LOL
