I am not a fan of Daylight Saving Time. It takes my body some time to adjust to the darker mornings, and it seems to be harder every year. I had to nearly pry Lily out of her bed this morning, as she is used to the sun being up by the time my alarm goes off. When I awoke for the yard sale Sunday morning, the sky was still pitch black! And woe unto you if you must deal with one of the two states that doesn’t follow Daylight Saving Time! One year we had a storm delay for our flight out of Las Vegas. Our trip was re-routed out of Phoenix, and because of the time difference, our connecting flight from Phoenix to Bakersfield was actually taking off as we were boarding the plane from Vegas to Phoenix!
After I re-adjust, I know I will enjoy the longer evenings and beautiful weather that are hallmarks of our spring Daylight Saving Time days. But for now, I’m feeling just a little bit “off”, and it makes me grumpy.
Sweet dreams.

Now, Fawn – I can’t believe you’d ever be grumpy – maybe with the time change, you feel a tad tired, but grumpy – never!
I’m thinking of blessed Spring and Easter candy! I’m thinking of all the goofy Easter hats I wore as a kid and my favorite scene from Peanuts Easter movie – Snoopy jumps into the musical Easter egg and dances with the bunnies! WHen I think of these things (though still tired) they make me feel more awake and a little smile escapes 🙂
AM 🙂
Happy Tired Tuesday 😉

Ah, AnnMarie, I can tell you have been awake for awhile! Easter always meant matching dresses for Melody and me, usually finished by Mom shortly before the Easter Bunny was due. I always loved those matching dresses, as they showed the world we were a pair!
I’m a little less grumpy now. Thank you, my friend. – Fawn

Fawn, just yesterday I read (although I’m afraid not very carefully) an article online about the 6 ways that daylight savings time impacts people — all of them negatively. Things like health (more heart attacks, I believe) and even lowering SAT scores were mentioned. You know, I forget now why we even change! While the longer light at the end of the day is nice, what I don’t like is that we seem to eat our dinner much later. Well, thems my thoughts about DST! LOL

I think it messes with our circadian rhythms…I also read somewhere that if we are trying to adjust sleeping/waking times, we should do it in ten minute intervals (or something like that) over a couple of weeks. Can you imagine the chaos if the whole world (besides Arizona and that other state I can’t remember) changed the time ten minutes every other day for a fortnight?
Happy Tuesday! – Fawn

My son has been complaining for the past two mornings … “but it’s so early” … I try to tell him it’s like jet lag, it will get better. 🙂 I’m with you, it makes me not very happy.

I’m with you, getting used to that hour difference takes me a few days. But I like it staying lighter longer in the evenings.
