This has been the week for dressing up for our girls.  It is Red Ribbon Week at school, so they have had spirit days so far:  I must-ache you to be drug-free (mustache day); Lei off drugs (Hawaiian wear); Boot away drugs (western outfits).  Tomorrow will be team up against drugs (twin day), then Let’s show good character (dress up as one character in a book you bring to school).  Lily can’t make up her mind about what character to be, but Olivia is opting for Olivia the Pig and will be dressing in red and black.

At dance, too, they are dressing up for classes all week.  Lily is going to be a rock star for Halloween, so she wore her glitzy gold tap costume from last spring’s recital to ballet, and continued with the Hawaiian theme for tap and jazz.  I got such a kick out of watching the girls in class yesterday, each with her own style and verve.

Such a wide range of costume ideas from these 4th and 5th grade dancers. Lily is fourth from the left in the back row.
