When I got off work tonight and walked outside, my nose was immediately hit with the smell of new rain. The ground was dry, the sky was clear, but that distinctive new rain smell was remarkable.
The weather report had called for rain as early as tomorrow afternoon, but that has been revised to rain on Saturday and Sunday. I hope it really comes. I would welcome a gully washer. We need rain! Lots of rain. Sweet-smelling rain.
Good night.

Ohhh I really like that smell.. I wish they could bottle that and sell it.. I water the garden and occasionally the hot concrete to attempt to get that smell but it never works out.

The lovely smell of rain, the quite lull of snow-packed grass, the refreshing breeze of spring – ah, Mother Nature is a grand gal.
I hope refreshing rain floats your way, Fawn.
I’ll do a happy rain dance for you today!

Happy Friday 🙂

I second AnnMarie’s comment, Fawn. I love the smell of rain, too! And funny, but I was thinking of spring just yesterday, and at one point I could almost imagine that new tingle of warmth in the air and the sound of birds chirping in the trees as morning breaks. Ah, spring. 🙂
